GARAGE SCREEN. HPBS company assessed the environmental friendliness of the competitive projects

GARAGE SCREEN. HPBS company assessed the environmental friendliness of the competitive projects.

The second competition for the architectural concept of the Garage Screen summer cinema took place in the summer-autumn of 2019.
HPBS specialists assessed the life cycle of each pavilion, a rational approach to environmental management and identified possible risks to the environment.

Every year, with the arrival of heat, a summer cinema starts working on Gorky Park’s Arts Square. The project is designed to educate the public in the field of cinema – from genre works to avant-garde and experiments. The Garage Screen program was founded in 2012. Since 2018, the Museum has been holding a competition for architectural concepts of summer pavilions. The Garage Museum of Modern Art itself has been open to visitors since 2008.

The best project of the Garage Screen summer cinema

On November 19, the Garage Museum of Modern Art announced the winner of the second open Garage Screen competition. They became SNKH STUDIO from Yerevan. Their project of an ”inside-out” pavilion recalls the architectural traditions of nomadic peoples. The guys suggested creating a metal frame draped with fabric from the inside.

SNKH STUDIO will be involved in further design stages. The architectural project of the authors will be implemented in the spring of 2020 in front of the Museum building.
