Saint-Gobain Research Center, LEED Gold

LEED Saint-Gobain certification, Research Center, Yegorуevsk

Project Description:

Saint-Gobain Laboratory Complex is located in the city of Yegoryevsk, Moscow region. The building is designed for conducting research and testing of products of the dry construction mix plant Weber-Vetonit. The facility features a dense shell with high thermal resistance, ventilation with heat recovery, LED lighting with presence sensors, and an automatic temperature control system for radiators and air conditioning. Heating is provided by high-efficiency gas boilers. The air conditioning system can operate in heat pump mode for heating in the off-season. Additionally, the building is equipped with an energy consumption and air quality monitoring system. Environmentally friendly construction materials produced by the Saint-Gobain group, as well as FSC-certified wood, were used in the construction.

Our Role:

Ensuring compliance with LEED certification requirements for new construction during the design and construction process, including:

  • Development of technical specifications for the designer and contractor.
  • Coordination of mathematical modeling and development of energy-efficient solutions.
  • Monitoring the implementation of LEED requirements during the design and construction process.
  • Passing LEED expertise in the USA.
  • Acceptance of engineering systems (Commissioning)

Key Achievements:

The building achieved LEED Gold certification. The measures taken have improved the following sustainability indicators:

  • Personal vehicle use was reduced by 43% through the organization of bus routes, providing bicycle parking with showers, and organizing parking for low-emission vehicles with Euro 6 class.
  • Drinking water consumption was reduced by 62% through the use of water-saving plumbing, waterless urinals.
  • All rainwater is collected and directed for production needs.
  • Energy consumption costs are reduced by 25%.
  • Containers for separate waste collection are provided.
  • Comfort satisfaction in the building is approximately 31% higher than in other similar facilities.
