Presentation of the LEED Silver Award to “JSC Medicine”

On Monday, June 6, 2022, a solemn presentation of the LEED Silver award was held to the Institute of Nuclear Medicine “JSC Medicine”, headed by Grigory E. Roitberg, MD, Professor, current member (Academician) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

JSC Meditsina in Khimki became the first healthcare facility to pass the international LEED certification in Russia, which is included in 38 LEED healthcare facilities around the world.

The Institute of Nuclear Medicine is one of the most modern cancer clinics in Russia.

The project participants worked together with HPBS as a single team and achieved a high result at the level of LEED Silver certification.

During the project, innovative solutions were introduced, including:

  • High-class ventilation system with automation of operating modes;
  • High-quality thermal protection of enclosing structures (R exterior walls =3.75 W/m2*K);
  • 110 kW solar power plant located above the car parking;
  • Energy Efficient Refrigeration Center (IPLV=7,589);
  • Automation of systems and implementation of LED lighting, which is 64% more efficient than the requirements of the ASHRAE standard.

An integrated sustainable approach has allowed us to achieve the following results:

  • Reduction of CO2 emissions: by 256 tons of CO2e per year;
  • Reduction of operating costs: 3.7 million RUB per year.

HPBS is very pleased to be a part of such a unique project. We wish “JSC Medicine” continue to achieve high results and keep the bar high for healthcare facilities in Russia.
